Preparing to Portugal and India trip

Inner and outer preparations

· yoga philosophy,Travel,non-attachment

I'm sitting on the plane, beginning my adventures to Portugal.

About a week in Portugal and almost two months in India.

Being a Brazilian, Portugal is my roots, it’s the land of my ancestors. India is the land of my heart.

The Portuguese in 1500, wanted to go to India and couldn’t, because of ‘God knows why’ (maybe winds, bad calculations, or the desire to explore a new land) they ended up in Brazil.

They where travelers with a dream like everyone of us. We’re all travelers in this life.

There’s a story of a man traveling throughout the world, carrying very little. He found a sage. He noticed that the sage lived in a small cave with just a lain cloth and a bowl. He asked:

“How can you leave like that?”

“I am a tourist here like you”, - he answered - “although I never left this place for many years."

We live on earth like we’ll never die, but we’re just tourists here. Life is a great adventure! Be aware that you’re a tourist! Enjoy life!

What to take in the baggage to Portugal? In my case, yoga clothes, a mat, wonder and curiosity!

What to take in the baggage to India?

People say the third is the charm, but I went to India 4 times and every time had its charm!

More important than stuff you’ll need there, is what you’ll not need there: your ego and all the cultural baggage you carry during all these years.

  • Leave your cultural baggage before the security check, in order to have new eyes for the new
  • Enjoy the spirituality in every corner of the streets and in people’s eyes
  • Be there, be present for this unique opportunity.
  • Drink just filtered water and drink the ancient knowledge that they can offer in schools and ashrams.
  • If you are a practical person and need to know about stuff to take to India, I hear you! Bellow there is a list that I took from a very nice website:

Stick around! In the next episode, We’ll visit some cities in Portugal! Just warming up!

See you there!

Namaste!
